High soybean yield is easy to get! “Zakhid Agrobiznes” reveals a secret
Soybeans are grown all over Ukraine, and in recent years the demand for this crop has increased significantly, because it is profitable, competitive and profitable.

On August 29, the company “Zakhid Agrobiznes” together with partners held the annual scientific and practical Field Day, dedicated to the peculiarities of soybean cultivation. The event has traditionally been organized on the basis of the agricultural enterprise PE “Zahidniy Bug” in Brody district of Lviv region.
During the seminar, a speaker from Kharkiv National University named after VN Karazin, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Alexander Akulov, spoke about soybean diseases and measures to prevent them. Next – a review of demonstration soybean crops of Canadian, French and Austrian selection and the presentation of new exclusive varieties.
Prograin soybean varieties – the results are impressive!
While visiting the demo field, the guests of the event had the opportunity to see with their own eyes the results of the joint work of the originators, distributor and seed producer. More than ten varieties of soybeans were presented to the participants, the most attention was drawn to the varieties Prograin. Volodymyr Yakubets, a representative of Prograin, spoke about them and the activities of Semences Prograin Inc.
“The seed company SemencesPrograinInc is engaged in the selection of only one crop – soybeans, and has the largest collection of seed material in the world. 36 varieties of this legume have been registered in Ukraine, and in 2020 three more new varieties will enter the market.
In Canada, the company works in three areas of selection, in Ukraine we sell two of them: we grow seeds for intensive technology (IP) and seeds with high protein content (QualiPro). The protein content reaches 41-44% and 45-47%, respectively.
All seeds are imported from Canada with the appropriate certificates confirming the quality of elite seeds. The yield potential of most varieties reaches more than 5 tons per hectare, and the average in the fields of domestic farmers is 4-4.5 t / ha.
It should be added that Prograin soybean crops do not need to be thickened (and this is one of the big mistakes of farmers). For each variety there is a recommended density for harvesting.
The company is also famous in the market for the fact that soybean seeds have a large mass of thousands of seeds – from 200 to 290 g, which has a positive effect on yield.
For the Western region of Ukraine on the demopol of PE “Zakhidnyy Buh Bug” there are five varieties: among them exclusive to the distributor of LLC “Zakhid Ahrobizn” – Kyoto, Amadeus and a novelty – the variety Zelda, as well as varieties Lybid and Kofu, “- said the expert.
Zelda 2375 CHU
The new early variety is Zelda (registered in 2018), precocious (by IP technology), with high yield potential. He came to replace the variety Tanais. The growing season is 95-100 days. An excellent predecessor, after which you can sow even winter wheat.
It is characterized by very good growth energy, has high cold resistance and high agronomic performance. The protein content is 42%. High-yielding, adapted to all types of soils, can be sown throughout Ukraine.
With a row spacing of 7 ro / 18 cm, the sowing rate will be 110 kg / ha – 615,000 seeds / ha, for a width of 14 ro / 35 – 100 kg / ha – 560,000 seeds / m.
“This year, this variety became the leader in terms of yield in the early ripening group, the average yield in Ukraine from the two demo fields of Prograin was 2.95 t / ha,” said Volodymyr Yakubets.
(Kyoto) 2650 CHU
The growing season is 135 days. High-yielding (by IP technology), with very good agronomic indicators, resistant to diseases. Demonstrates excellent development. Plant species – semi-shrub, well branched. It allows you to consistently harvest high yields and is suitable for almost all soil types. As the experience of the last 3-4 years shows, the variety adapts well to sudden changes in weather conditions. The protein content is 43%. Kyoto has a high strength for direct sowing and high adaptation for densities of 76 cm. For row spacing 7 ro / 18 cm sowing rate is 112 kg / ha – 560,000 seeds / ha, for width 14 ro / 35 – 102 kg / ha – 510 000 seeds / m, and for a width of 30 ro / 75 cm – 85 kg / ha – 420 000 seeds / ha.
(Amadeus) HP 2550 CHU
The growing season averages 115 days. This is a variety from the series of high-protein varieties QualiPro, with high adaptation, which provides a good profitable harvest in climatic zones with short seasons. Important characteristics are the excellent yield potential, it is suitable for different types of soil, has a high protein content (48%). Amadeus also has a high resistance to lodging, to disease. The company recommends narrow row spacing (7 ro / 18 cm) with a sowing rate of 105 kg / ha – 580,000 seeds / ha – 10.2 seeds / m. With a row spacing of 14 ro / 35 cm, the sowing rate will be 95 kg / ha – 525,000 seeds / ha – 18.4 seeds / m.
“The average yield of this variety in 2018 was 3.25 t / ha in Ukraine. In large areas of crops, in particular in agricultural holdings, Amadeus is the leader in yield.
In addition, with this variety due to the high protein content you can get the maximum profit from growing soybeans. The surcharge to the price for 1% of protein in a plant today makes 150-160 UAH », – the expert told.
(KOLIA) 2500 CHU
The variety, which has excellent resistance and yield for early harvest, adapts well to heavy soil, has improved resistance to different growing conditions, is an excellent alternative for regions with short seasons, has high quality and round grain. The protein content is 42-46%.
With a row spacing of 7 ro / 18 cm, the sowing rate will be 97 kg / ha – 590,000 seeds / ha, for a width of 14 ro / 35–89 kg / ha – 540,000 seeds / m.
(KOFU) 2500 CHU
Medium-early variety, the leader in yield in its maturity group. It has high performance in different growing conditions, strong and healthy plant, the variety is resistant to disease, suitable for all soil types.
The sowing rate for row spacing of 7 ro / 18 cm will be 115 kg / ha – 590 000 seeds / ha, for widths of 14 ro / 35– 105 kg / ha – 540 000 seeds / m, and for width 30 ro / 75 cm – 85 kg / ha – 420,000 seeds / ha.
