Nowadays, plant protection with a number of chemicals plays an important role in increasing the efficiency of agricultural activities.

This is primarily due to the widespread spread of diseases, pests and weeds that can cause great damage to crops. As you know, pesticides have long been firmly in the position of the main defenders of crops, allowing farmers not only to collect many times more grain, fruits and vegetables, but also to improve the quality of their products, to extend its shelf life.

The main factor in the effectiveness of such drugs is the competent use and high initial quality. That is why the choice of chemical plant protection products should be approached with special responsibility.

What are the plant protection products

All drugs used to protect plants from pests and diseases can be divided into several types according to a number of criteria.

By chemical composition:

• inorganic: compounds of mercury, copper, barium, phosphorus, boron, sulfur, etc.;
• organic: synthetic, organochlorine and organophosphorus, pyrethroids, derivatives of dithio- and thiocarbamic acid, nitrophenols, etc. ;
• biogenic – created on the basis of the products of fungi, bacteria, plants, viruses.

By object of influence:

• herbicides – from weeds;
• fungicides – from a fungal infection;
• acaricides – from ticks;
• insecticides – from insects;
• rodenticides – from rodents;
• bactericides – from bacteria.

By the nature of the action:

• systemic pesticides – drugs that can penetrate into the plant and destroy the harmful object;
• contact pesticides – have a negative effect on the pest in direct contact.

By method of penetration:

• intestinal action – act on the pest by absorbing the treated parts of the plant;
• contact action – penetrate into the tissues of the pest through its outer coverings;
• fumigants – enter the body of the pest through its respiratory tract.

Plant protection products can be produced in various forms – in the form of suspensions, granules, powders, concentrates, emulsions, tablets, etc.
